Official Press Release:
Here is a last minute Christmas present for the hardcore nation that is Australia. Supports have been announced for the inaugural Australian Tour in January of New York hardcore destroyers Backtrack. Additionally after some unfortunate delays, tickets are now on sale for the shows. Finall,y the Newcastle venue has been changed from the Blackbox Theatre to the more familiar confines of The Loft.
Since their inception in 2008, Backtrack have slowly built up their reputation as a NYHC powerhouse with constant touring across the Northern Hemisphere. Holding down the tradition established by the likes of Agnostic Front and Madball, the band has only recently released their highly anticipated album Darker Half through Reaper. In January, they make their way to Australia for the first time, trekking coast-to-coast to bring a new generation of hardcore down under.
Fresh off the release of their new album, Hell Split Wide Open (available now through Dead Souls), Melbourne’s Iron Mind will continue the path of destruction they are leaving in the wake of shows played across the country, slowly converting each audience one at a time. Their old school take on hardcore has attracted the attention of hardcore fans of all ages, proving yet again that the future of Australian hardcore is well secure.
With this pairing of Backtrack and Iron Mind, there is nothing soft on offer throughout the January shows. There are no compromises, no apologies, just hardcore played with passion and dedication, as it should be. Welcome to the pound. Hardcore lives in 2012.Check out the full details below.
